New AMS 2400 Revision X for Cadmium Plating and AMS 2402 Revision K for Zinc Plating

SAE’s Finishes Processes And Fluids Committee has been busy lately!  There’s another 2 new revisions for important Aerospace Plating Specifications, and they’re available now from Document Center Inc. Here’s more information:

AMS 2400, Revision X, “Plating, Cadmium.”  This specification covers the requirements for electrodeposited cadmium on metal parts.

AMS 2402, Revision K, “Plating, Zinc.”  This specification covers the requirements for electrodeposited zinc plating. FYI: Unless otherwise stated on the engineering drawing, high strength steel parts having a hardness of 45 HRC or greater shall not be electroplated.

The revisions are the results of the usual five-year review process at SAE.  Documents are routinely checked every five years to determine if the document is still valid.  The result?  Either a reaffirmation that the document is OK as is, or a new revision is released with the appropriate changes.

Find more plating specs on our Document Center website section, Find Standards By Industry Sector.  This area of our store allows you to browse lists of standards appropriate for your industry.
