New SAE J1455 2012 Edition, “Recommended Environmental Practices for Electronic Equipment Design in Heavy-Duty Vehicle Applications”

SAE has just released the new 2012 Edition of J1455, “Recommended Environmental Practices for Electronic Equipment Design in Heavy-Duty Vehicle Applications,” and it’s available from Document Center Inc. in both pdf and paper format.  The new 53-page revision updates this go-to standard for noise, vibration and harshness tests for equipment designed to be used in heavy-duty vehicle applications.

Often used in conjunction with MIL-STD-810, the scope of SAE J1455-2012 encompasses the range of environments which influence the performance and reliability of the electronic equipment designed for heavy duty on and off road vehicles.  Similarly it can be used for any appropriate stationary applications which use these vehicle derived components.

A few examples of such vehicles are on and off highway trucks, trailers, buses, construction equipment and agricultural equipment including implements.

All of the current SAE ground vehicle standards, as well as many obsolete revisions (some no longer available from SAE itself) are available from Document Center Inc. at our website, www.document-center.com.  If you have further questions, you can contact us by phone (650-591-7600), fax (650-591-7617) or email (info@document-center.com).  We are always happy to assist you with your standards purchases and regulatory compliance requirements.
