PPP-B-1672 Revision E, “Boxes, Shipping, Reusable With Cushioning,” has just been released and is available now from Document Center Inc. in either paper or pdf format. This new 32-page update covers shipping boxes consisting of a fiberboard box with appropriate cushioning components (Fast Packs).
Changes to the new PPP-B-1672E from the previous (now withdrawn) PPP-B-1672D are so extensive that lines have not been added to the margins as is normally the case.
The federal specification covers 4 Types of Boxes, along with various styles for each. There are extensive tables and figures to provide the user with complete requirements for each. An Appendix A offers information on closure, opening and inspection requirements.
