New NEMA WC27500 2012 Edition on Standard For Aerospace And Industrial Electrical Cable

NEMA has just released the new 2012 Edition of NEMA WC27500, “Standard For Aerospace And Industrial Electrical Cable.”  This 56-page standard contains requirements for finished cables and is now available from Document Center Inc.

These cables are intended for signal and low-voltage power applications with defined environment or temperature conditions found in commercial aircraft, military aircraft, and high performance vehicles.

The specification allows the user a wide range of construction choices.  Variations are available for circuit identification, conductor size, insulation type, number of conductors, shielding material, and jacket compounds.

Component wires are covered by other referenced standards.

The source document for NEMA WC27500 was MIL-C-27500, “Cable, Power, Electrical and Cable Special Purpose, Electrical Shielded, General Specification for.”  Later the MIL Spec was renumbered and renamed to MIL-DTL-27500 Revision H, “Cable, Power, Electrical and Cable Special Purpose, Electrical Shielded and Unshielded, General Specification for,” before it was cancelled and replaced by the NEMA edition in 2001.

All current NEMA standards (as well as many obsolete ones) are available from Document Center Inc. at our website, www.document-center.com.  Or contact us by phone (650-591-7600), fax (650-591-7617) or email (info@document-center.com).  We’ve been in business for 30 years and can supply you with not only the right standard for your application, but expert assistance to help you make informed decisions.
