New MIL-STD-1130 Revision C, “Connections, Electrical, Solderless Wrapped,” replaces MIL-STD-1130B

The U.S. Defense Department released the new Revision C for MIL-STD-1130, “Connections, Electrical, Solderless Wrapped.”  The 21 page standard replaces MIL-STD-1130B and is now available from Document Center Inc.  The document identifies the requirements for proper wire wrapping techniques to ensure adequate connection between wire and wrappost terminations for military wire wrap connector applications.

The standard was actually canceled in 1999 and only reinstated on August 16, 2010.  This new revision is the first change to the standard since that time.

MIL-STD-1130C establishes the requirements to produce mechanically and electrically stable, solderless wrapped, electrical connections made with single, solid, round wire and appropriately designed wrapposts (terminals).

This standard includes:
a. Classes and requirements for solderless wrapped connections.
b. Description and requirements for the wire used in making the solderless wrapped connections.
c. Description and requirements for the wrappost used in making the solderless wrapped connections.

MIL-STD-1130 also covers the following classes of solderless wrapped, electrical connections:
Class A – Solderless wrapped, electrical connections.
Class B – Conventional solderless wrapped, electrical connections. FYI: Class A will be used whenever possible.

Changes in the new revision are extensive, so there’s no notation in the margins of the new standard to highlight areas where revisions were made.

This new military standard and all publicly distributed (non-classified) current DoD publications, as well as many obsolete revisions, are available at our website, www.document-center.com.  Or consider contacting us by phone (650-591-7600), fax (650-591-7617) or email (info@document-center.com).  Over the years, we’ve helped tens of thousands of customers with their contract documentation requirements.
