New Compressed or Liquefied Gas Standards Issued

There’s several new compressed or liquefied gas standards available from Document Center Inc.  Three are issued by the U.S. Dept. of Defense, the other is from ASTM.

ASTM F307 2013 Edition: Standard Practice for Sampling Pressurized Gas for Gas Analysis

This practice describes procedures for obtaining a sample of pressurized gas for gas analysis from a system or component.  This is a fairly straight-forward test.  A sample pressure vessel shall be evacuated and sealed with a minimum vacuum pressure. The vessel shall then be attached to the designated pressurized sample port. The pressurized gas is allowed to enter the sample vessel until the pressure is equal to the pressure of the system or component. The pressure shall be secured and the sample vessel assigned for appropriate analysis.  It is the first revision of ASTM F307 since 2002.

MIL-PRF-27210, Revision J: Oxygen, Aviator’s Breathing, Liquid and Gas

This specification covers the requirements for two types of aviator’s breathing oxygen.  The last revision of the document was in 2009.  Changes are extensive, so there’s no markings in the margins to let you know where they are.

MIL-PRF-27401, Revision G: Propellant Pressurizing Agent, Nitrogen

This specification covers the requirements for three grades and two types of nitrogen.  This is the first revision of the performance specification since 2008.  Again, changes are too numerous to identify with lines in the margins.

MIL-PRF-27415, Revision C: Propellant Pressurizing Agent, Argon

This specification covers the requirements for two grades and two types of argon.  Last revised in 2007, the updates to this revision are too numerous to identify as well.

Industry has many uses for gases, both in liquefied and compressed form.  The Military Performance specifications above are written and maintained so that government purchasing programs can obtain exactly the gases required for defense needs.  In addition to the DoD and ASTM, compressed or liquefied gas standards are also developed by the Compressed Gas Association (CGA).

These standards, and over 500,000 more, are available from Document Center’s web store, www.document-center.com.  Or contact us by phone (650-591-7600), fax (650-591-7617) or email (info@document-center.com).  We support industries across many jurisdictions and business sectors.  We can help you with your standards requirements too!
