MIL-I-46058C Validated – Insulating Compound, Electrical (for Coating Printed Circuit Assemblies)

MIL-I-46058 Revision C, “Insulating Compound, Electrical (for Coating Printed Circuit Assemblies),” has been validated and it’s available now from Document Center Inc. in either paper or pdf format.  The validation notice 2 confirms that Revision C with Amendment 7 is still valid for use by the Department of Defense and it’s contractors.

The specification itself cover conformal coatings that are suitable for application to printed circuit assemblies by dipping, brushing, spraying, or vacuum deposition.  MIL-I-46058C was inactivated in November, 1998, which means that it should only be used for replacement purposes, not for new design.  The validation notice 2 does not change that status in any way.
