ASTM E11, “Standard Specification for Woven Wire Test Sieve Cloth and Test Sieves,” has been updated. The new 11-page 2016 Edition is available now at Document Center Inc.’s webstore. What size test sieves are covered by ASTM E11? These sieve cloths have a nominal aperture size ranging from 125 millimeters to 20 micrometers. The document does not specify what materials the sieves should be made of. Instead it focuses on the sizes of the frames, the wires and the apperatures.
What are the changes in the new ASTM E11 2016? There are a number of changes from the previous 2015 Edition (which is now obsolete). The ASTM E29 committee points out the following updates:
- Tables 1 and 2 have been revised.
- Equations 1 and 2 have been updated.
- Sections 6.1.5, 6.2.1 and 6.2.2 have all been modified.
- Appendix X1 and Appendix X4 also have been revised.
