The popular specification, AN 960, “Washer, Flat,” was withdrawn on September 16th of this year in favor of the NAS-1149, “Washer, Flat.” The cancellation notice affects Revision 21 for AN 960, which is now obsolete.
The five page cancellation notice provides the user with a detailed interchangeability and substitution table, showing the old AN960 part numbers and the correct replacement numbers in the new NAS 1149 numbering schema.
NAS 1149 duplicates most of the AN960 parts, but additional material options permit use of titanium and other special high strength alloy materials. The washer is used in aerospace applications.
